Catskills Lookout
2012A multistory lookout pavilion orchestrated to the different cardinal views of a unique site in the Catskills. Starting with a pond-side lookout on the ground floor, the pavilion corkscrews between a series of different viewing windows, ending in an upperfloor lookout over an old stone wall and into a wetlands environment. The structure is conceived as a modern take on traditional heavy timber framing, with a digitally perforated cladding that deteriorates as the canopy ascends vertically.
