	Pangolin Dress
Collaboration with threeAsfour
2016

The Pangolin Dress is a digitally designed, 3D printed human carapace—a scale-like skin that responds to the wearer’s anatomy and motion. Geometric control and precision allows for nuanced transformations in the membrane’s porosity and flexibility. The deliberate location of these gradations produce alternating states of transparency and privacy while accommodating the movement demands of the human body. Nuanced control of material attributes, including color and flexibility, allows for precise control over the properties of inidividual scales. This is similar to the performance of biological scales, as their underlying geometry transform according to varying functional and aesthetic demands of the body.

	Harmonigraph

Collaboration with threeAsfour
2016

The harmonigraph dress is an exploration of the limits and possibilities of 3D printing in fashion. The design originates from a circle sliced into three spirals proportioned according to the Fibonacci sequence. Each spiral grows from the rib cage to envelop a different portion of the body, shrouding the anatomy in a harmonic silhouette. The form explores the relationship between body and cell, where the realization of a part is inseparable from the whole. The design of the patterning systems is critical to the effect produced, as both the overall form and patterning evolve in tandem. Underlying this is a belief that the “parts” both do and affect - that patterns can respond to certain conditions (ie flexibility and movement) and produce novel emotions in people.

	Greta Oto
2019

Greta Oto is a production-ready dress which explores the microscopic play of light and colour that occurs in the vein patterns of butterfly wings. Printing directly onto polyester fabric, uses a lenticular effect to explore light refraction and shifting shades within the design. By printing spherical, fish scale-sized cells onto the fabric, a clear lens is formed with two underlying strips of colour. This allows the hues of the dress to shift with the smallest angle change, creating an iridescent and mesmerising display of golden-blue colour transitions.

	Biomimicry
Collaboration with threeAsfour
2017

A set of laser cut patterns and textiles derived from three dimensional studies of naturally occurring scales, produced for threeAsfour's Fall 2016 collection, Biomimicry. These scale systems are mapped and gradated to the specific contours of each cut, tessellating the body in patterns that respond to the human form.
